A Little About Me...I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Loyola University of Chicago. I graduated from there with a Middle School Math endorsement. For 3 years, I taught all subjects in a 5th grade classroom in Burr Ridge, IL. This is my second year teaching 6th grade math at Central Middle School. In my spare time I enjoy playing in co-ed volleyball leagues and tournaments, spending time with my family at our cottage in Michigan, traveling anywhere I can, and trying every new restaurant in the city of Chicago. I also play on a Trivia team on Tuesday nights and I'm proud to say our team has qualified for the last 5 consecutive "Tournament of Champions" events in downtown Chicago! I LOVE attending sporting events for my favorite teams, including the Blackhawks and the Chicago White Sox!

My Teaching PhilosophyI am the math teacher who once hated math! When I became a 6th grader, math suddenly clicked for me. I realized the only way to be "good at math" (like anything else) was to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! I worked hard to learn all my basic facts and in turn that helped to boost my confidence as a math student. My expectations for students are always high. I am always available to help and truly love the component of one-on-one or small group tutoring. I do assign homework often because it is important to practice math if you want to be "good at it." My main expectation is that you enter my classroom ready and WILLING to learn!
